About ABA
History
Alberta Bobsleigh was founded on January 21, 1983. The Association currently hosts four Alberta Cup events, the Provincial Championships as well as co-hosts the World Cup, America’s Cup, and Canadian Championship events.
During the summer months Alberta Bobsleigh runs a summer training program and hosts an annual push competition.
On ice bobsled training takes place at Canada Olympic Park from October to February and an annual drivers school is held every October for new athletes to learn the sport.
Mission Statement
· To develop a broad interest in bobsleigh throughout Alberta.
· To provide opportunities for all Albertans to participate in bobsleigh.
· To provide opportunities in the sport of bobsleigh for Albertans to progress to National and International levels.
· To establish Alberta as a leading centre for bobsleigh throughout the world.
ABA Bylaws
A by-law relating generally to the conduct of the affairs of the ALBERTA BOBSLEIGH ASSOCIATION BE IT IS HEREBY ENACTED as a by-law of the ALBERTA BOBSLEIGH ASSOCIATION (hereinafter called the “Society”) as follows:
- Division 1: INTERPRETATION
- Division 2: BORROWING, BANKING AND SECURITIES
- Division 3: EXECUTION OF INSTRUMENTS
- Division 4: DIRECTORS
- Division 5: MEETING OF DIRECTORS
- Division 6: PROTECTION OF DIRECTORS, OFFICERS AND OTHERS
